    Abstract

The annual Journal Citation Reports include a number of indices, the key one being the journal impact factor, despite debate as to its usefulness. An analysis of trends in integrative and complementary medicine impact factors is yet to be reported in the literature. Furthermore the relationship between impact factors and the other indices contained in the report are seldom cited or discussed. The 2006 Journal Citation Report showed that integrative and complementary medicine journals have demonstrated a trend towards increased impact factors. The Joumal of Ethnopharmacology has continued its dominance as the most highly ranked integrative and complementary medicine journal.
