Abstract

This paper investigates the capacity of multipleaccess and broadcast channels with MIMO-MRC systems in spatially correlated environments. We present new capacity approximations which are shown to be accurate. The approximations are based on new simple expansions which we derive for the maximum eigenvalue distribution of correlated Wishart matrices. We then proceed to analyze the affects of correlation and show it is beneficial for capacity. Our results are confirmed through comparison with Monte Carlo simulations.
