Abstract

Pathology testing is pivotal for accurate diagnoses and management, especially in emergency departments (EDs). However, a proportion of diagnostic tests may be unnecessary. Artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare offers a promising solution to reduce unnecessary pathology testing through advanced data analytics, but the success of AI-enabled digital health hinges on learning from existing digital health interventions. This poster will present findings from a scoping review of the impact of digital health interventions on unnecessary pathology testing in EDs, highlighting factors influencing their success.
