Abstract
In the aftermath of the Ukraine crisis in February 2022 geopolitical tension became heightened to a level unseen since the Cold War. A major impact of Russia’s action in Ukraine has been on the security of Europe, and the relationship of Russia with European States and NATO members. However, arguably no greater impact was that on the Arctic Council, at a time when Russia held the Chairmanship.
