Impossible realities: the (re)emergence of Aboriginal culture in the city

    Abstract

This book is the story of the emergence of a group of traditional Aboriginal owners in the suburbs of Sydney and as such is the first of its kind. It is the out-come of many years of living and working with a small, fragile community of Aboriginal people whose very presence is often doubted by other Australians. It concerns their struggle to represent themselves in a world which is always already occupied by others.
