Abstract
Mutants with increased properties of amyloglucosidase production were isolated from Aspergillus awamori after mutagen treatments. The improvement achieved in three sequential steps of mutagen treatment and screening was 2.5‐fold. Clearly improved amyloglucosidase production was also obtained in fermentor cultivations. The production of α‐amylase was also increased in the mutants.
