Abstract
The Atbai Survey Project, partly funded by the Egypt Exploration Society, aims to understand the nomad-foreigner relationship within goldmines in Sudan. Julien Cooper reports on the important heritage of this desert region discovered so far, which is threatened by present day gold-mining.
