Abstract

The paper presents the use of H2 admixed to the neon buffer gas for efficient high beam quality in copper vapor lasers. It was observed that addition of H2 to the neon gas changes favorably the pulse duration and spatial characteristics of the seed radiation. This resulted to increase in laser output power from 5.7 W to 9.6 W.
