Abstract

The task of management information system (MIS) strategic planning is one where the complexity of the interrelationship of the contributing factors poses severe problems to the decision maker. In dealing with such tasks in the educational institution setting, we examine a theoretical framework based on established work in organizational structure and competitive strategy. Examples in Hong Kong tertiary education are considered.
