Inside the 'Lost City' of Pompeii: an historian's review of the NMA exhibition

Research output: Contribution to journalBook/Film/Article/Exhibition review

    Abstract

The National Museum of Australia's (NMA) current exhibition 'Pompeii: Inside a Lost City' seeks to do more than just present a discovered Pompeii of the past. It focuses on Pompeii as a place of work today, which underpins the discovery of new things in Region V and their conservation. The exhibition features a mix of objects, frescos and sculpture; alongside videos that really do explain work at the site and an immersive recreation of a street with Vesuvius located in the background.
