Abstract
The work is a 40-minute musical performance for a motion-tracked live performer and ensemble of electronic drums, bass guitar and laptop. The work includes a musical performance system that consists of a motion sensing device (Kinect) and customised software designed by the author that analyses gesture in real-time and uses it to drive sound and video materials. 'Intangible Spaces' premiered at Vivid Sydney: Light, Music and Ideas Festival in 2018.
