Abstract
The bath-plug antenna is designed for use in a GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit at millimeter wavelengths. The antenna radiates through the GaAs substrate via a matched, dielectric-filled waveguide aperture, making the antenna well-suited for use in a focal-plane array for a multi-beam telescope. An array of bath-plug antennas was analyzed, and a two-element array operating at 3 GHz was built and tested. A good agreement was obtained between the analysis and measurements.
