Abstract
Conservation of live animals and, to a much lesser extent, cryopreservation of genetic material have begun. The major activities are in Europe and North America, with very limited activities in Asia, Oceania, Africa and South America where there are the most breeds at risk and the most serious problems in preserving them. Cryopreservation has a major role to play in breed conservation. -from Author
