Abstract
Improving the latency perceived by a web client has drawn a lot of attention from researchers. Prefetching is a way for it. Previously, much attention had been given to the client behaviors. In this paper, we pay attention to server side algorithm and proxy side algorithm. First, we forecast the URL which most likely be visited by user and prefetch those in RAM on the server. At the same time, we also give direction to client to prefetch URLs based on the record visiting history of a user client. Simulations prove that the algorithm of server side can keep the hit rate at a really high level and the prefetch algorithm also can help to reduce latency for clients.
