Abstract

A multi-user white noise channel is known to have a Shannon capacity and that the capacity can be achieved by an interference cancellation procedure that involves M2 cancellations as well as 2M cancellations steps. This paper shows that rates can be achieved arbitrarily close to capacity with 0(1) cancellation steps in the particular case of equal powers and equal rates. The results of the study are extended to the multi-receiver radio network context, and to the case of the multiple power levels.
