Abstract

This chapter aims to build knowledge on interfirm customer–supplier approaches to sustainability. Focusing on the traditional manufacturing value chain in an Australian setting, this chapter develops an innovative conceptual model, drawing on the concepts of technological innovations systems, sustainable collaboration studies and global value chains. We explore theoretical and practical dimensions for sustainable change by applying our innovative theoretical model to four case studies.
