This paper aims to identify triggers and moderating factors impacting the internationalisation process of developed countries’ firms. It helps to gain a deeper understanding on how and why companies adopt strategies to internationalise beyond their region. Data will be drawn from qualitative and empirical findings from the internationally expanding German renewable energy industry.
