    Abstract

    This chapter contextualises the 21 authored contributions presented in the Handbook on Energy Justice. It commences by charting the historical and intellectual development of the energy justice field, as well as ongoing and emerging debates. The chapter then reflects on the individual contributions of each chapter in relation to the book’s overall purpose to integrate and unsettle mainstream understandings of energy justice.
