La representación del espacio en tres novelas de Josefina Aldecoa

Spanish writer Josefina Aldecoa has been the subject of relatively scarce literary criticism. However, her narrative is representative of the Spanish Mid-century Generation and she depicts the Spanish society of her time from a very particular perspective by the use of narrative space. This paper analyzes three works by Aldecoa and discusses autobiographical elements in her writing. The topics explored are the use of interior space as a representation of the identity of female characters in contrast to exterior space. It also explores the poetic use of key elements such as the home, the city, water, and mirrors.
