    Abstract

Documents lake-level changes from 38 lakes during the past 30 000 yr. The primary data from the published stratigraphic literature are summarised and their interpretation in terms of water-level changes is explained, lake by lake. The record of lake-level changes is coded at 1000-yr intervals from 30 000 yr BP to the present. The data are also used to assess differences in effective moisture between successive 3000-yr intervals from 18 000 yr BP to the present, and between each of these intervals and the present. -from Author
