Language and communication

Abstract

Words are everywhere! Whether we see them, hear them, sign them, speak them, feel them or make them in some other way (or in combination), we are immersed in a world of words! Words reflect, express, encapsulate and allow us to share our greatest excitements and wishes, our deepest darkest fears, our journeys across time and place, and our needs and hopes. It is no surprise, then, that language learning is such an important aspect of development.
