Late Quaternary sedimentation of two NSW South Coast Estuaries: a study of Lake Conjola and Narawallee Inlet

Research output: ThesisBachelor (Honours) Thesis

Abstract

This thesis analyses the sedimentation rates of two estuaries that are in adjoining basins of similar size: the unfilled Lake Conjola, which is up to 9 metres deep, and the infilled adjoining Narawallee Inlet. It concludes that sedimentation in the Late Quaternary is a factor of source rock geology, basin shape, and the presence of mud, as illustrated by mud facies and foraminifera in Narawallee core samples.
