Abstract

Optimization for low quantum noise operation to eliminate excess noise due to non-power-orthogonal longitudinal modes using high-reflectance-faceted devices was presented. Asymmetric high reflectance devices with little excess noise penalty were suggested to be used for squeezed light generation. The results showed preference of symmetric high-reflection (SHR) laser from the standpoint of reducing quantum noise.
