Abstract

Series of Eu²⁺ doped CaS-Ga₂S₃ system phosphor were synthesized by solid state method under high temperature. Their spectra of photoluminescence, XRD and reflection spectra were measured at room temperature. When Ga/Ca < 2, the components of the phosphor are the mixture of CaS and CaGa₂S₄, and when Ga/Ca > 2, the phosphor were the mixture of Ga₂S₃ and CaGa₂S₄. Results show that a suitable excess of gallium could improve light efficiency of CaGa₂S₄ : Eu²⁺.
