    Abstract

A case of plantar fasciitis is presented. Plantar fasciitis is classically a repetitive microtrauma overload injury of the attachment of the plantar fascia at the inferior aspect of the calcaneus. Understanding the functional, anatomic, and biomechanical variables that contribute to plantar fasciitis is necessary for providing a rational approach to treat the problem, to reduce the rate of recurrence, and to speed up the rehabilitation process.
