Abstract
The numerous requirements of a feed system for an earth-resources-satellite earth station is described. These include simultaneous S/X-band circular polarisation operation, a rejection filter for a local interference signal and electronic tracking. Most of the feed system was designed theoretically and the accuracy of the methods used is demonstrated by the excellent agreement with measured data. We argue that, without this design capability, it would be difficult to realise such a complex feed system.
