Modern slavery in global supply chains: The impact of COVID-19

Abstract

Drawing on interviews with over 30 experts on modern slavery, we examine how the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened already terrible working conditions in many global supply chains. The article highlights the role of social compliance auditing and some emerging silver linings. Implications for supply chain managers are discussed.
