Modulation induced coherence collapse in FM diode lasers

    Abstract

    An FM external cavity diode laser of a type similar to previous FM lasers using intracavity electro-optic modulation is reported. The laser exhibits modulation induced coherence collapse that limits its FM bandwidth to 11 GHz.
