Abstract
A short-cavity continuous-wave multiwavelength distributed Bragg reflector fibre laser is described which stably generated eight longitudinal modes of the cavity spaced approximately 0.4nm (50GHz). The relative intensity noise of the laser was dominated by anti-phase relaxation oscillations associated with gain cross-saturation.
