Abstract
In the Laws Plato seeks to accommodate philosophy in Magnesia’s educational program. Thus, he compares philosophy with music and legislation, since nomos meant both law and song/musical genre. Thus, Plato utilizes sensory experiences to promote ethical and philosophical training which, if properly reflected in the governing laws of Magnesia, can persuade the citizens that the gods exist and they are good and honour justice.
