Abstract

The National OHS Improvement Framework was endorsed by the Ministers responsible for workplace health and safety in each State and Territory in Australia and was released by the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission (NOHSC) in December 1999. The National OHS Improvement Framework requires that a yearly report to the Workplace Relations Ministers' Council be prepared by NOHSC. The report should provide a stocktake of activities undertaken by OHS stakeholders to address the national infrastructure areas outlined in the Framework. This article summarises the first report on the Framework and outlines the next steps for further work.
