Abstract
Painter Neil Frazer is fascinated by the natural environment. Originally working purely abstract, Frazer’s practice has transformed into a more figurative representation of nature in his landscapes and seascapes. The works displayed here embody Frazer’s skill and sensibility in merging both styles, painting figuratively in an abstract manner. The result is landscapes that are both familiar and uncanny at the same time. Frazer’s waterscapes are definably figurative, depicting a conversant reality of moving water. However, the thick, gestural and almost abstract strokes of his paintbrush convey more than just a representation of a particular scenery.
