Abstract

Given significant changes impacting contemporary work and employment practices, the study of industrial relations needs to consider those actors and agencies that have hitherto been ignored. This edited book moves away from Dunlop's well known systems theory with its three-actor categorisation and highlights a range of new state actors, new community and labour market actors, and new employment processes. The book seeks to reinvigorate modern studies of industrial relations by showcasing those actors now active in the employment relationship.
