Abstract

Complexes of nickel(II) and copper(II) with the ligands 6-methylpyridine-2-carboxylic, pyridine-2-carboxylic and pyridine-3-carboxylic acids have been prepared from non-aqueous media. In all cases, the magnetic properties and reflectance spectra indicate an octahedral configuration for the nickel(II) complexes. Six-coordination is also possible for the copper(II) complexes, although five-coordinate structures cannot be discounted.
