Novel hetero-structures formed by refractive index variations in chalcogenide-based photonic crystal slabs

Abstract

We show theoretically that photonic crystal slabbased double heterostructure cavities, formed by variations in the refractive index, can have large Q-factor, and that such cavities can be implemented in chalcogenide glasses using their photosensitive properties.
