Abstract
Data security problems in the computer environment are reviewed. Emphasis is on information protection in operating systems. Two fundamental concepts are described of the introduction of protection in computer systems. The first concept is known as ticket-oriented and the other as list-oriented. On the basis of these concepts, design problems of operating protection are considered, and it is shown how they are solved.
