Abstract

An optical crossconnect with shared wavelength conversion was demonstrated under a dynamic traffic model. The approach of using a shared pool of regenerators allowed intermediate points between the cost of regeneration and the cost of spare capacity. The concept of selective transparency was explored for a network with fixed demands.
