Abstract

This paper presents the modelling of optically controlled microstrip slow wave metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) structure. An equivalent transmission line circuit model for the optically controlled MIS transmission line is developed which is valid over all the three regions of operation, i.e., dielectric, slow wave and skin effect regions. The results for phase constant and attenuation by the equivalent circuit model are shown to match well with the exact wave analysis result for all levels of optical illumination.
