Abstract

The distribution of Al between octahedral and tetrahedral sites in MgAl₂O₄ spinel has been determined on quenched samples by high-resolution ²⁷Al NMR spectroscopy. The relationships between T and degree of inversion, and between disorder and cell volume are analysed.-J.A.Z.
