Abstract

The purpose of this article is to alert and inform Ministers of Education, policy makers and other key geographical education stakeholders about the implications for the quality of geography education available to young Australians. Such implications are related to the shortage of specialist Geography teachers in primary and secondary schools, and a shortage of specialist Geography educators leading geography methodology courses within teacher education programs at Australian universities.
