Abstract
The oxygen isotopic composition of Archean orthogneisses and charnockites from Southern India is rather uniform (δ18O generally 6-8‰) for metamorphic grades ranging from amphibolite to high-P granulite. Some high-P granulites have high δ18O (~10‰) suggesting sediment contributions. CO2 metamorphism does not appear to have affected the δ18O values of Indian charnockites. -Authors
