Pepi of Meir: his tomb (D1), date and background

Abstract

This paper treats the architectural and artistic similarities between the small tomb of Pepi and the much larger and well known one of Pepyankh the Middle at Meir. The close location of the two tombs and the representations of the owner of the first tomb in the wall scenes of the second and the possible relationship and close date of the two men are discussed.
