Performance analysis of Canny's edge detection method for modified threshold algorithms

Abstract

Different features of an image are relevant for different applications. Among the different features as edges which have been analyzed and investigated intensely. Of different edge detection methods, Canny's edge detection method is a pioneer in the edge detection field. However implementing all the steps of the Canny edge detection method in hardware is quite complex. In this paper we have modified two threshold Algorithms. We have also analysed Canny's method with and without incorporating the Hysteresis Linking step, and we have tried to investigate the performance of Canny's method incorporating two modified threshold algorithms.
