Abstract
An essay is presented on the identities of Koreans living in Beijing, China and Sydney, Australia. The relationship between Korean communities and host countries is explored through an examination of free Korean-language newspapers published in each location. The assimilation and hybridization of ethnic identities is discussed in relation to the social and political climates of China and Australia.
