Abstract

Two newly developed β-titanium alloys have been investigated with respect to phase stability and deformation behavior. Martensitic transformation, twinning and slip are viewed as the operative deformation modes for the less-stabilized In-containing alloy, leading to distinct deformation behavior compared with the stabilized Cr-containing alloy in which only slip is operative.
