    Abstract

Height, weight, and other anthropometric data, age incidence for onset of menarche and the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics were examined in a sample of 28 autistic girls. Growth and development appeared to be significantly retarded in the autistic group when compared with normative data. There was a tendency for menarche and the appearance of secondary sexual characteristic to be delayed. A significantly large proportion of the group were found to be either left-handed or ambidextrous.
