Abstract

Polariton analysis of a four-level atom strongly coupled to a cavity mode was presented. The four-level atomic system included a three level subsystem in an electromagnetically induced transparency configuration and an additional atomic level. This system exhibited a photon blockade effect and the solution was presented in terms of polaritons. The Hamiltonian obtained by this procedure was analyzed and the dynamic Stark splitting of dressed states was discussed.
