Abstract
Politics in New South Wales reflected the permanent campaign for the general election of 22 March, 2003. Both major parties sought to court public appeal, to expose the failures of opponents, and to prosecute incipient scandals. This produced rapid legislative development, sharp debate, occasional “policy theft”, and abundant mudslinging.
