Abstract

Initial investigations to alleviate thermal lensing, a fundamental limitation in Raman lasers performance, are reported. An adaptive-optics feedback loop was incorporated into a Nd:YVO₄ self-Raman laser demonstrating a 40% Raman output power increase.
