Abstract

Design, realisation and measurements of an effective rectenna system for dedicated wireless energy harvesting at 2.45 GHz ISM band are presented. The rectenna consists of a microstrip patch antenna array and a 2-stage Cockcroft Walton voltage multiplier circuit. The harvested power from a dedicated RF source is successfully used to operate a selection of typical electronic devices such as a 2.1v green LED, digital clock timer and digital humidity sensor, up to the range of 3.5 meters.
